Defining Happiness Is Hard For Some People - 846 Words

Defining happiness is hard for some people. Often times, people ask themselves the question â€Å"What does it mean to be happy?† Many people find themselves asking this question throughout their lifetime, but only a handful of people find the happiness they desire. For example, too many people in our society strive to become better than everyone else, instead of finding happiness in what they already have. This means that happiness is not something materialistic, but is instead found through intrinsic motivation. Despite its definition online or in the dictionary, each person has their own definition of happiness, including myself. In my opinion, there are three simple, key things to make you happy: love, doing what you love, and finding happiness within oneself. True happiness comes from enjoying the things one has and taking advantage of the people who love and support you. A quote by H. Jackson Brown, Jr. says, â€Å"Love is when the other person’s happiness is more important than your own.† In this way, love can bring happiness to all people, as it is found universally. Many people find their happiness through love because they are very happy with that certain special person. Love and happiness are one in the same and they give out the same emotional satisfaction. A simple way to live life is through love, taking the time each day to do something that makes you happy. This even includes simple things like going to a movie or going camping with family.
